We had a lovely Sunday with really good meetings. The testimonies in Fast Meeting were so uplifting. For example, a young woman shared how she had been so disappointed in herself when she had considered doing things below her standards. She wondered who she really was. When she attended the youth meeting with Elder Bednar, she felt her divine worth. She testified that she is a daughter of God and that he loves her. She said she would stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places. A grandmother shared her testimony in Tongan, then her son interpreted.
Later in Relief Society, the women’s meeting, a sister described how hard it was when her husband died and how the Lord has helped her adapt to being a younger widow.
We went straight to the mission office after church to see our oldest son and his family on Skype. It is such a joy to hear about their activities and see the grandkids!
I borrowed the Mission electric fry pan and made pot roast in the morning. It was so nice to arrive home to a delicious smell. It was the hottest day yet for us in Sydney, and the Tolman’s flat does not have air conditioning. We could not stand the thought of them sweltering in their flat, so we invited them to join us for dinner and we had a lovely visit after eating. Here are Elder and Sister Tolman sitting on our couch.
I found a good doctor through a kind member of our congregation. So I was able to get an order for my monthly blood draws to make sure my blood is not too thin.
It was cooler with less humidity 2 days this week, absolutely gorgeous weather. Sometimes I take a little break from looking at a computer screen and walk around the church and the neighborhood.
There is great variety each day in the office. Missionaries come in with questions, looking for mail and to pick up supplies. I am up and down all day making copies, checking the Transfer Board, using the paper cutter, getting something out of the filing cabinet.
I can still play my violin! I play through a few nice arrangements of hymns on Sunday night.
