A Saturday in the Blue Mountains

This rock formation is “The Three Sisters”

Saturday morning April 11th, we packed a lunch and droveIMG_3341 west to the Blue Mountains for some hiking and toIMG_3344 ride the train in Katoomba. When we arrived and walked to the outlook, it was very foggy and misty. But it soon lifted and we could see cliffs in the distance and the beautiful Jamison Valley.

View from the outlook.

Ready to get on the train.

Right next to Blue Mountains National Park is “Scenic World”, where we rode the steepest train in the world, a Cable Car and Skyride. The track is so steep as it goes down the side of the mountain that it feels like an amusement park ride! We went from the top of the cliffs down to a moist rain forest.

We walked along the trail in theIMG_8644 rainforest, noticing ferns and trees we have never seen before.IMG_8635IMG_8660
