Mei and Blake invited us to a farewell dinner for Elder Knighton Thursday night. It was a fun blend of Mei’s Chinese cooking and Blake’s Aussie cooking. The prawns with garlic sauce were tasty and I especially like the smoked salmon. Michele was there with her little auntie and they all wanted pictures with Dave, the tall American. We learned that Mei joined the church in Hong Kong when she was 18. Her boyfriend, Blake is a recent convert in the Bankstown Branch.
Mei and Blake were in our temple preparation class, so we got to know how fun and kind they are. It was just 2 days before Elder Knighton left. Elder Cheung also left in a few days for Sichuan, China. Sister Tolman usually mails release certificates to the Stake Presidents. Elder Cheung carried his own release certificate and was to be released by an area authority over the phone.
Mei has a piano in her flat and we discovered that Elder Knighton also plays the piano very well.
