As missionaries in the Sydney area, we were given the opportunity to attend Time Out For Women Saturday, 8 August. It is a day of motivating talks and good music. The young sisters were encouraged to bring an investigator. Sister Tolman and Elder Kinghorn and I rode with President and Sister Back. The mission presidents were invited and Elder Kinghorn decided to come along. It was held in the arena built for the Sydney Olympics.

My delicious salad: fried pumpkin, cheese and seeds on greens.

We bought lunch in the arena. The delicious meat pies here are filled beef and gravy.

At first I was surprised that women flew from all over Australia to attend. But when I heard the excellent presenters and saw all the products available at the bookstore, I decided it was worth traveling to. Sister Hill is an excellent shopper and loved the bookstore.

We heard Brad Wilcox, Elaine Dalton and Heidi Swinton. Sheri Dew, one of the most articulate speakers, spoke to us from Salt Lake City through some kind of teleconferencing system.

These sisters came all the way from Canberra on a bus full of church members and investigators.

It was a pleasure to hear David Archuletta sing. He has a shy and very unassuming personality, it is amazing to hear him sing with such power. Elder Kinghorn enjoyed saying hello to him. They sat next to each other in a BYU Salt Lake Center psychology class last fall. Sandra Turley also sang beautifully for us.

Brad Wilcox and Sandra Turley presented at a mission conference for our mission’s Sydney Zones on Sunday night August 9th at a large stake center near Campbelltown.
